Description

Commercial steelyard of iron or steel consisting of a bar that curves up at end. An iron shackle pivots on O-shape pins to the top and down to the bottom. A swivel eye is attached to the free end of either shackle securing an iron hook, the top one for handing steelyard and the bottom hook to support mass to be weighed. The top edge of the tapered end of the bar is serrated for a moveable weight indicator which is not with the steelyard at this time. Below the serrations, one side of the bar is scored and stamped 5 through 80 by five pound increments. The other side is similarly scored and stamped for 20 through 320 by 20lb increments. The steelyard is/was painted and striped in gold, black, green, ad red with white numerals.
