Steelyard weight. Cast iron urn-shaped container with a cast in lug in the top with a 1/2" diameter hole in its center. Iron ring of 3/8" diameter material is inserted through this hole as well as through another 1/2" diameter hole in the bottom of a forged iron hook for hanging weight on steelyard. Bottom of contained cast with tapped nut in center. Brass bolt threaded into the tapped hole. Traces of brown paint on weight.
