Description
Hat mold cut from a block of tulip poplar, then modified. A 1/2" disk of pine and a 3/8" disk of cherry were nailed to underside, the mold was cut at an angle and off-center, a 7/16" section of poplar screwed to cut face of smaller portion of mold and a tapered square mortise cut into the bottom of each. A crowned pine brim mold with two-tapered square tenons extending from upper surface fit into these mortises securing the enlarged, crown form to the brim mold.
