Description

(a) Commercially made doll dressed in Shaker-style clothing. Doll is made of composite material painted peach. Hand-painted face. Brown silk thread for hair. (b) Long sleeved, pleated dress of heavy royal blue cotton. (c) Royal blue cotton bertha with tatted lace edging. (d) Cotton petticoat edged in lace. (e) One-piece white cotton pantaloons edged in lace. (f,g) Woven white cotton socks. (h,i) Cream-colored kid leather shoes with twill tape ties. (j) Bonnet made of heavy paper covered with bright blue fabric trimmed with violet acetate with violet acetate neck strap.

Notes

The clothing was made, and the doll was dressed, by Sister Mary Dahm while she lived at Hancock.
