Description
Heavy pine rail with all arrises chamfered into which are set eleven pegs on each side (cherry) and one into each end. An iron wire hook projects from the top of the rail near each end. These hooks allowed the rail to be suspended from the ceiling. Rail painted yellow, pegs natural cherry.
Notes
Although this rail came from the Church Family, similar rails were found in a small room in the Mount Lebanon, NY North Family's Sisters' House, which was used to store garments out of season.
