Description
Forged iron drill bit of some sort. Near center of shaft the bit is worked to a tapered octagon which, at the minimum cross-section, is flattened on opposite sides whose edges expand and then contract again to a point. The edges of this point have been worked to bevels on same side of point. Other end is a tapered cylinder approximating a Morse-taper.This taper has a rectangular hole through it and a circular depression below it.
