Blanket chest of pine painted red-brown, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Lidded blanket box of pine with applied bracket base. Chest and bracket foot are dovetailed. Lid hinged with forged iron strap hinges. Interior has till on proper left end. Proper right ends of front and back are dadoed and drilled for a lidded till but all parts are missing. Box is painted red-brown. Integral pivot pins on till lid apparently failed as lid has been cut down and a rail added to allow butt hinges to be let into rail and lid.
