Chest painted red, North Family, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Large six-board chest butted and nailed together with center divider set into dadoes in from and back. Two lids, each with bread-board ends hinged to a cleat at rear of chest with iron butt hinges. Front and ends have "frames" of 1/2" pine stock nailed to chest front and ends creating a frame and panel appearance. The insides of the frames have applied moldings. Exterior of chest is painted red and varnished over. Insides of lid are painted red but no varnish over.
