Description

Handmade shirred or dollar mat made by cutting pieces of mill-woven fabric into circles which are folded in half twice then sewn in rows onto a white and blue cotton fabric base. Bound on all sides with woven green and blue wool. Backing of heavy, plain weave brown cotton. The "dollars" are various shades of blue in the center. There are four horizontal and three vertical rows of black, brown, red, and olive green "dollars" along the outside edge forming a border on all sides.
