Cupboard over cupboard, North Family, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Cupboard over silled cupboard that was built-in to a corner at its proper left side. Constructed of pine with frame and panel doors, rails through mortised into stiles, double pinned joints, iron butt hinges, flat panels outside with feathered edges inside. Top door has a steel surface mount lock with a bone or ivory escutcheon; bottom door has a brass, half-mortise spring latch and catch. Top cupboard has four shelves and bottom; bottom cupboard has one shelf and bottom. Finished with a bright chrome yellow stain or wash on exterior and insides of doors. Interior edges of door frames have stopped round-overs.
