Oval carrier inscribed "Lucy P.B Fanny Tyson 1899", Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Oval carrier. Steam-bent maple carrier band and birch(?) handle. Carrier band has three swallow tails secured with copper tacks. White pine bottom header held by copper shoe pegs. Fixed handle glued and nailed to inside of carrier. Exterior varnished.
Notes
Sister Fanny lived at the North Family until 1891, when she moved to the Church Family, and from there to Enfield, CT in 1895, and then returned to the North Family in 1901, so perhaps the box was given to her during a trip to visit Mount Lebanon in 1899.
