Description
Round box or measure, heavily painted. Appears to have pine bottom and a steam-bent ring-porous hardwood side band with feathered overlap and a vertical row of tacks outside and inside holding it. Side is tacked to bottom. Lid top or header is pine as well but band is ash or chestnut with swallowtail overlap fastened with copper tacks. Band fastened to header with wood shoe pegs. Box painted brown inside and out. Lid unpainted.
