Cast iron sink over cupboard used in the canning kitchen, North Family, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Pine piece cast iron basin 81 7/8" long, 22 1/2" wide, and 4" deep, with original lead trap and rolled wooden top edge set into two sets of connected cupboards. PR side cupboard has outlying stiles of about 3" side. Cupboard doors are rectangular, flat-paneled and are attached with metal butt hinges. Spring latches are used for closure. Stile between doors is same length as doors 18 1/2" long, flush with cabinet, square, flat-paneled and are attached with metal butt hinges. Thumb latches are used for closure. Stile b/n doors is longer than the length of door and reaches to ground 25" long measurements of entire cupboard (both pieces) 80 3/4" wide by 25" long, including foot. Side panel with rounded edge on PR side above basin. Wood backsplash is 14 7/8" long and runs for the width of basin. Top PR side has two brass faucets bolted to it. Four metal hooks to the right of the faucet. Shelf 4 3/16" wide attached to top of backsplash.
