Rectangular ash basket inscribed "DX", Church Family, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Rectangular splint basket with center handle. Rim double-lashed. Bonnet-shaped handle, double notched, that comes down on the inside. Base is plain weave, open with three cleats nailed on bottom that are 1 1/2" wide.
Notes
The basket has a handwritten paper tag reading "Emma J. Neale" attached to the handle. It is not clear whether she owned it or made it, but the former is more likely.
