Shoulder stick or edge iron, Canterbury, NH
Description
Wooden shoulder stick with an edge iron at one end. The shoulder stick is foot-like in appearance with a round shaft that ends in an edge iron. The iron end is cut down leaving one edge protruding. The diameter of the shaft increases in size from the iron end as it reaches the "foot". There is a rounded crease in the wood where the shaft and "foot" meet on one side, with a small lip on the opposite side. The top and bottom of the foot are curved and meet at a rounded edge.
