Description

(a) Commercially made doll dressed in Shaker style clothing. Doll is made of composite material painted peach. Hand-painted face. Brown silk threads used for hair. (b) Long-sleeved pleated dress made of lavender silk. (c) Lavender silk bertha edged in lace, lace collar. (d) White cotton slip, (e) white cotton petticoat, (f) white cotton pantaloons, (g,h) cream-colored knit socks; (i,j) white leather shoes with twill ties; (k) woven poplar bonnet with pale lavender skirt.

Notes

The clothes were made, and the doll was dressed, by Sister Jennie Wells while she lived at Mount Lebanon.
