Description
Maple calipers with iron pressure pad set into mortise through movable jaw and a lead or pewter insert in jaw end for a locking screw. Standard mortised and tenoned into fixed jaw and pinned with two pegs. Standard is scribed at 1/8" intervals and inch marks are labelled 1 through 15. Two screw holes in the back sides of each jaw and a "shadow" of lighter wood indicating that something no longer extant was affixed to each jaw for a considerable period of time.
