Description

Size stick for measuring shoes. The stick is 11/32" wide and has a triangular slide held on to the stick with a piece of brass cut to fit the triangle. One end of the stick has a right triangle attached with two L-shaped metal pieces. The top of the stick is divided into 26 increments, which range in size from 5/16"-3/8" and are numbered 1-13 twice. These increments have a mark in the middle. Additionally, there is the manufacturer's mark which reads "BELCHER BROS & CO N.Y". On the bottom of the size stick are inch long intervals from 1-12 in 1/8" increments. The stick continues for 3 1/2" after the ruled portion. The last inch of the stick has a small hole 5/16" in diameter. There are two guidelines across the top of the rule so that the numeral inch markings are uniform.
