Description

Rocking chair with no arms. Sausage turnings in front posts and back rails. Three slat back, graduated in height. Mostly maple, but two stretchers appear to be oak. Rockers are screwed into rabbets on the insides of posts. Fabric seat tape. Rockers may be made of birch or something other than maple. Mortise and tenon joints of top slat are secured by wooden pegs. Seat tape and padding appear to be original or at least of considerable age. Brown and beige seat tape is twill woven on all surfaces.
