Carrier handle bending form used by George Roberts

Description

Handle-bending form, sides and top of pine (Pinus strobus), shape padded out with strips of maple veneer (Acer spp.) tacked in place with copper tacks. End caps are cherry (Prunus serotina). Top and two side clamp bars of basswood (Tilia americana) secured by turned and threaded maple screws, two maple on each side, and a maple and a beech (Fagus grandifolia) holding the top bar.

Notes

Used to hold steam-bent handles to shape until set.
