Rocking chair with tape seat, Watervliet, NY
Description
Rocking chair with tape seat, no arms. Watervliet pommels and tops of back slats. Posts, three back slats, and rocker blades of cherry; stretchers of chestnut or ash. Rocker blades cut flush with front posts. Side-to-side tape was light brown, front-to-back was darker brown with two yellow-brown stripes to either side of center and outlined by a narrow white (?) border which is repeated closer to each edge; now badly faded and stained.
