Box

Description

Butternut box with ends rabetted into front and back and then sawn separating lid from box. Pine bottom set into box. Top nailed to lid frame. Brass butts, hook and eye, and handle on lid. Lid stopped by leather strips tacked to interior of box and lid. Box and lid lined with paper with Asian style design. An oval picture entitled "Autumn" is glued to inside of lid. Natural finish on outside. A rectangle containing three initials is carved into the center of the lid; the handle covers the left and right letters, leaving only "A" visible.
