Object ID:
1955.7850.1
Community:
New Hampshire, Canterbury
Description

Bird's-eye maple posts, maple slats, maple stretchers, birch rockers, three slat back. Taped seat in light brown and green. Natural finish/refinish.

Notes

This chair is very similar to another in the museum's collection (1955.7194.1); they were probably made by the same craftsman. The stamp of "19" refers to the number of the room in which the chair belonged. The back is lower than that of the other chair, suggesting it was made for the use of a sister
