Ironing table with three drawers and sleeve board rack, Canterbury, NH
Description
Ironing table of pine. Single drop-leaf on back, pull-out work surface above drawers, two half-width drawers above a full-width drawer. Drop-leaf has rule joint and is hinged with two blanket box strap hinges of iron. Drawers have bin pulls and are nailed together. Heavy square legs with outer arris chamfered to bottom drawer rail, then all arrises chamfered to bottom forming an octagon. Rack with four openings is attached to top, proper right, front corner which holds sleeve iron boards. End aprons frame and panel. Top screwed or nailed to under-carriage and heads covered by 9/16" pine squares set into top and planed flush.
