Spool holder/pincushion consists of a face - turned maple base, between-centers turned vase-shaped maple pedestal, and a face-turned maple cup atop the pedestal which holds the pincushion. The pincushion is velvet covered. The velvet cover on pincushion is pink. Wood surfaces are heavily varnished. Six iron or steel pins. 5/64" in diameter and approximately 1 1/2" high are inserted around base to hold spools.
