Description

Between-centers turned maple handle and maple spool; the handle was turned with a round tenon on the working end. This tenon has a 5/16" notch turned into the shaft near its end. The spool has a drilled mortise in one of its ends that accepts the handle tenon. A rectangular mortise was chipped through the shaft of the spool and a rectangular pin inserted through which keys into the notch in the tenon holiday the handle in place but allowing it to turn relative to the spool.
