Description

A forged iron or steel shaft with a flattened end transitioning to a tapered octagon that transitions, at its small end, to a tapered cylinder. The end of this tapered cylinder appears to have been machined to a true cylinder over which a 1/2" diameter forged cylinder was forced. This 1/2" diameter section has four Vs filed or ground into its end, producing a four-pronged tip. The recessed tip of the machined cylindrical shaft end has also been filed to a blunt, four-sided point.
