Description
Collar box of black willow. Constructed like half an oval box - box and lid bands, bent around semi-oval-shaped headers and tacked to willow top and basswood bottom headers. The 1/2" box has a willow wood back to which the box band is tacked and to which the lid is hinged with small brass hinges. There is a single hole in the bottom for a wood screw that secured box to something else. Lid is opened with a small, between-centers turned willow knob. The box has no finish.
