Knitted rug attributed to Sister Elvira Hulett, Hancock, MA
ca. 1893
Description
Multi-colored knitted round rug. Consists of knitted strips in graduated widths sewn together, creating eight circles in a spiral from the center. The edges of each ring are sewn together. Rug is bound with two distinct rows of braided fabrics. Rug is backed with cotton fabric and tied to rug with yarn.
