Description

Coopered pail (a) with white pine staves and bottom, two iron or steel hoops secured with rivets, an iron or steel wire bail with a between-centers turned birch handle, and two iron or steel, diamond shaped bail plates riveted to the outside of the pail near the top rim. Lid (b) of white pine consisting of a disk 13 1/4" diameter with another disk 12 7/16" diameter nailed to the underside. A between-centers turned cherry knob is centered in the lid. Pail painted bright yellow outside, red inside. Lid painted yellow inside and out. Knob is natural.
