Description

Steam-bent birch box and lid bands with two swallowtails on box and one on lid secured with copper tacks. White pine headers held in place by wooden pegs. Box painted rust red with tack heads burnished free of paint.

Notes

The box was made by (former) Brother Wayne Smith and Michael Graham, now director of the museum and library at Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village.
