Wheelbarrow

Description

Wheelbarrow with a platform that is 36" x 23 1/4," having a scale at the top. On the bottom is, "Manufactured by Erie Truck Scale Co. #566A Erie, Penn. U.S.A." Iron wheels. 19" long handles.

Notes

Acquired from the Hancock Shakers, where it had been brought after the closure of the Mount Lebanon North Family in 1947. However, on a visit to the Shaker Museum in 1954, Brother Ricardo Belden stated that the wheelbarrow was originally purchased by Elder George Wilcox for the Enfield, CT Shakers, and that it was brought to the North Family upon the closure of that community.
