Pages 659-672 of Frank Leslie's Popular Monthly, published December 1885. Pages 663-370 feature an article titled "The Shakers in Niskayuna," about a visit to the Watervliet Shakers. The article is illustrated with a series of Becker's engravings originally published in 1873. On page 660 is a full-page illustration, "The Shakers in Niskayuna - Enjoying a Sleigh Ride." On page 661, "The Shakers in Niskayuna - Business Office of the Shakers," "Entrance to the Shaker Men's Rooms" and "Entrance to the Shaker Women's Rooms." On page 664 is a full-page illustration, "The Shakers in Niskayuna - Religious Exercises." On page 665, "The Kitchen of the Church Family," "A Mender of Clothing of the Church Family," and "Cutting Bread." On page 668 are the illustrations, "The Dining-Room of the North Family" and "The Girls' Clothes-Room in the Church Family." On page 669 is a full-page illustration, "The Shakers in Niskayuna - The Singing Meeting." On page 672, "The Shakers of Niskayuna - A Shaker Schoolroom" and "Sleeping-Room of the the Shaker Men." Though the illustrations purport to depict the Watervliet Shakers, the original images were all made at Mount Lebanon in 1870.

Though the text of the article is about a visit to the Watervliet Shakers, the illustrations are engravings made by Becker at the North and Church Families of Mount Lebanon.
