Description

Device consisting of a machined steel rod/shaft. One end is 3/8" diameter for 1/2" of length, then 1/2" diameter for about 4 1/8", stepped down to 3/8" for 1" of length, then 1/2" diameter again for about 1 1/2", where it transitions to a 1/2" square cross section for 3/16", then steps down to a 1/4" square tapering to 3/16" square over 3/16" of length. Both 1/2" diameter sections are fitted with wood cylinders. The 4 1/8" long section has a turned 1 3/8" diameter cylinder of hemlock forced on to it. The other 1/2" diameter section of shaft has a maple turning force-fit onto it. One of two flats on maple turning incised with an X shape.
