This stereographic view is of Canterbury's Second [Middle] Family as seen from the south. It was likely taken from either inside or even the top of the Church Family's Dairy Barn. The back of the card is inscribed, "Middle Family" in pen. This inscription may be that of the photographic studio as later on cards with printed backs, the term Middle Family is used rather than Second Family.
