Hickory (Carya spp.) handle removed from a basket. Stock is 5/16" x 25/32", flat on top and rounded below. Bent to a smooth U-shape with ends tapered in thickness. A copper trunk rivet and burr remains secured in the handle in addition to three copper tacks (removed) on either end. Traces of yellow paint remain.
