Description

(.1) Scarificator in brass case with 13 steel blades. The height of the blades are adjustable by means of a thumbscrew adjustment mechanism and the blades are exposed by pushing a steel trigger. The mechanism is spring-loaded such that, by pushing a brass button, the blades retract. (.2) Case for scarificator. Covered in black leather; inside plush lined in a plum-colored velvet. Hinged lid held closed by brass hook and eye.

Believed to have been used by Brother Thomas Corbett, who was a physician at Canterbury's Church Family.
