Description

Marking jig for laying out locations of holes for handles (vertical) and ribbons (horizontal) on round sewing boxes. Jig consists of a 6 1/2" diameter piece of white pine (Pinus strobus) with galvanized sheet metal tacked on to opposite sides. The sheet metal cowls each have three pairs of holes drilled through, a set of two vertical and two sets of horizontal. Cardboard shims have been tacked to the top of the pine base.

Notes

Acquired from the owners of the Mount Lebanon South Family site. It was used to mark drill holes for the handles and ribbons on fancy sewing boxes.
