Notes

This photographic print mounted on heavy card stock shows a group of 27 Shaker adults and children posed in front of the northeast door of Hancock's Church Family Office prior to its Victorian modifications in 1895. The Shakers pictured in the photograph are identified on the back of the mount by a numbered list keyed to numerals written on the front of the photograph. Another copy of this photograph (1960.12226.1), also mounted on heavy card stock, does not have anything written on the photograph and is in slightly better condition. The digital copy of this photograph has been enhanced to make it easier to view -- the original being quite faded. The photographer has not been identified.
