Skiving machine stamped "D. M." and "1842," Church Family, Mount Lebanon, NY
Description
Four splayed legs mortise-and-tenon-jointed to top. Top is single rectangular slat with chamfers on bottom long edges. Two sets of mortise-and-tenon-jointed uprights. Shorter set have wooden roller with larger diameter section at center, which is notched and fit with iron bracket. Tops of this set of uprights stamped "1842" and "D. M." Roller secured to L-shaped arm and handle. Second set has wood board between them. Uprights are notched and fit with U-shaped attachment. Lacks blade. Top is dado-jointed with wooden screw through it. Screw head has wood handle; one side broken.

Though the machine lacks a blade, the location of where the blade would have been suggests that this was likely a leather skiving machine.
