Work counter used in the kitchens at Hancock, MA
Description
Counter. Top has breadboard ends. Top hangs over carcass by 8 13/16". Sides are single plank with convex cut at bottom to create feet. Two drawers width of carcass; two knobs each. Bottom drawer 7 15/16", top drawer 7 3/16". Drawers are dovetail jointed. Base board washed yellow, rest stained.
Notes
There is no record as to how this piece was acquired by the museum. It was featured in Edward Andrew's book, Religion in Wood (1966), which states that it was "from the communal kitchen at Hancock."
