An unpainted 1/4" x 10" x 17 3/8" plywood panel with beveled edges is braded to the center. At the door end of the top, a 7/32" x 7/8" strip of pine is glued and nailed to front edge top. Two reinforcing blocks are glued to the top surface of the top and to the inside surface of the pine strip. All but the plywood is painted black.
