Casting pattern for a stove component, Canterbury, NH
Description
Foundry pattern for a stove top of white pine consisting of a 5/16" x 9 5/16" x 21 3/8" panel of pine with a 5 1/16" diameter hole cut through near one end. Glued to the underside of this hole is an 11/16" x 5 3/4" diameter donut with a center hole 3 1/4" diameter. Trim strips with mitered corners at the stove pipe end 7/32" x 1/2" are nailed to three sides creating a lip around the underside of the top. The upper side of this top has an 11/32" x 3/4" trim strip nailed across end without a lip, perhaps for aligning a superheater. The stove pipe opening on the top is shaped to provide a 3/4" x 3/4" channel, 3 5/8" in diameter, 5 1/16" open diameter for a section of stove pipe to fit into. Pattern is painted black except for the trim strip across width at the end opposite the stove pipe fitting.
