Description

A wooden clock face with a decorative painting on its face. The main portion of the clock face is square with a half-circle set atop it. In the half-circle there is a circle with a painted outdoor scene with two trees and a rising sun with eyes. Framing the outdoor scene are s- and c-scrolls with a floral motif. The scrolls extend down and frame the top of the circle with designates the time, which is similarly framed on the base. The clock face tracks four different periods of time, told by three separate dials. The largest dial is a series of dashes for seconds, which are counted at increments of 15, so it reads, 15 on the rights, 30 on the bottom, 15 on the left, and 60 on top. Set inside the seconds is the standard clock face 1-12 to designate the hours. Below the "12" is a small dial, 2 3/4" in diameter; the intervals are marked with small dots and each 10th dot is designated by its corresponding numeral, 10-60, to designate the minutes of each hour. Above the"6" is another dial with every fifth dot marked by its corresponding numeral, except the last interval which has six dots and at top it reads 31, to count the days of the month. There are three through-holes in a vertical line. The top and bottom through-holes are 1/4" in diameter and the centeral through-hole is 11/16" in diameter. The small diameter holes sit at the center of the minutes dial (top) and days of the month dial (bottom). The center through-hole was for the mechanism used for the hours and second arms.
