Description

Wooden headboard (a) and footboard (b) of bed frame. Both pieces are painted brown-red. Each bed post is between-centers turned with different turned sections. Where the rails join the head and footboards the posts are square. The bottom portion of the posts are circular in cross-section with a swollen middle. There are two rails and one board which joins the two posts of the headboard. Between the headboard and middle rail there are 12 turned spindles each 8 11/16" h. The spindles grow in diameter toward the center where there is a decorative groove. The bottom rail has six holes drilled on the inside face. The footboard has three rails and a between-centers turned rail at top. Between the middle two rails are 12 turned spindles each 5 9/16" h. The spindles grow in diameter toward the center where there is a decorative groove. Not every spindle is identical.
