Description

Mitre-shooting jig with a chestnut frame, hickory screw, and vise jaws glued up of smaller pieces of wood. The bulk of the jaws are mostly likely hop hornbeam, with an outer layer on 45 degree face of maple covered by a face of maple veneer. The moveable jaw is secured to the end of the hickory screw by a pin or screw extending from behind a steel plate, through a hole in its center, and inserted or screwed into the screw end. The steel plate is held on to the moveable jaw by two steel wood screws. The hickory screw end has an iron ferrule.
