Description

A large compass with legs of white pine, an arc of hickory, and an iron rivet and burr for a pivot. Then about half-way to the other end, the legs are tapered and chamfered to a roughly 1/2" diameter at their ends. Both legs have a bit of a stub projecting from their center indication that their may have been some additional fixture at their ends. There is a hole into the mortise for the arc, but the locking pin is lost. Compass was painted white or gray at some point in time.
