Description

Forged iron band with buckle arrangement at ends. An iron wedge was driven through this buckle to both secure the stay and to tighten it around the coopered flume or pipe.

Notes

Stay or fitting for a flume, a coopered pipe that conveyed water from the dam to the water wheel in the saw mill. This piece was found near the saw mill in 1964.
