Description

Wooden bookbinding press. Rectangular platform, under which there are two lengths of wood, one on either short side, for feet. Dovetail jointed into the top of the platform, in the middle of the short sides, is a set of uprights. Uprights grooved up the center to allow press to move up and down by the turning of central threaded tenon. Small rectangular metal plate with through-hole on either short side. Through metal plate is a thin wooden dowel connected to threaded tenon. Tenon threads through a dado-jointed cross bar (cheek) to secure it in place. Top of cheek cut so ends are at an upward angle. Threaded tenon has a rounded spherical top with a through dowel to aid in turning. The press is painted yellow overall.
