Description

All wood rake with a between-centers turned chestnut handle which has been steam-bent slightly at the rake end. The handle is through-mortised into the tine bar using a tapered tenon. The tine bar is ash and had 12 ash tines originally - between-centers turned. The handle is braced to the tine bar by three concentric semi-circular hickory dowels steam-bent and inserted through the handle and through-mortised into the tine bar. The braces are pinned in the tine bar and handle with cut iron brads.
